Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a stainless steel with considerably improved wetting property for molten metal by restricting the contents of specified components such as Si and Mn in a stainless steel contg. a specified amount of C, Cr, etc. and passing the resulting steel through annealing and pickling processes.
CONSTITUTION: This stainless steel with considerably improved wetting property for molten metal is obtd. by restricting the contents of Si, Mn and Al in an austenitic and austenite-ferrite two-phases stainless steel contg. ≤0.15% C, 7W26% Cr and 4W23% Ni to 0.03% Si, ≤0.8% Mn and ≤0.03% Al and adding 0.05W2.5% Cu. This steel is characterized by the passage of annealing and pickling processes in the manufacture. Using this steel the problems of a conventional method such as soldering and a cost increase to improve wetting property can be solved.
