Abstract

PURPOSE: To intend fuel saving by burning a boiled off gas produced in a tank on a liquefied gas transportation ship to generate a steam, turning a turbine by means of this steam to drive a generator, and running a motor connected to an engine, with the created power.
CONSTITUTION: A boiled off gas produced in a LNG tank 1 on a liquefied gas transportation ship is transmitted into a gas compressor 2 through a pipe (a). After compressed here, the gas is heated through a heater 3 and then sent to a small- sized boiler 4. The gas is burnt herein and the created steam is carried through a pipe (b) to a steam turbine 5 to drive a generator 6. The power of the generator 6 is delivered via a controller 7 to a motor 9 which is connected to a main thrust diesel engine 8 of the ship. The motor is driven in order to provide an auxiliary power for the engine 8 and economize a driving fuel.
