PURPOSE:To avoid the fouling of print due to the temperature rise of head by simulating the temperature of a heating resistor in terms of heat capacity, heat resistance, and voltage for detecting the temperature of the resistor in the form of electrical value and then controlling electric power to be applied. CONSTITUTION:The heating resistor of a thermal head 11 is energized by application of voltage from a thermal head current supply circuit 12, and at the same time a charge corresponding to the voltage as a power source 13 is applied to the condenser C of an analog simulation circuit. The charge accumulated there corresponds to a heat energy and also potential at the point A corresponds to the temperature of the heating resistor. Thus, since voltage value corresponding to the temperature of the point A generates, it is applied through a control circuit to the supply circuit 12 and pulse width and pulse voltage of voltage applied to the heating resistor are controlled.
