Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a heat sensitive recording apparatus which permits the thermal head free from heating injury for a constant thickness printing by checking the heating element for its temperature while the printing movement is in pause and controlling the heating current accordingly. CONSTITUTION:The thermal head 3 receives electric power from power supply circuit 6 accordingly to printing signals for heating printing. Timing signals alternately determine the printing period and sampling period for voltage drop (a period in printing signals to pause a printing movement for checking the voltage drop of heating element due to constant current.). Data on the thermal head temperature is constantly put into the temperature checking circuit 7. Signals from checked temperature are compared with pre-determined temperature values and power supply from power supply circuit 6 to the thermal head 3 is controlled to permit a heating printing at pre-determined temperature.
