Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled Cu alloy free from Cu ion leaching and having superior corrosion resistance, castability, workability, strength, etc. by adding a very small amount of Al and/or Si to a Cu-Mg or Cu-Mg-Ca alloy of a specified grade.
CONSTITUTION: By adding 0.01W0.6% Al and/or 0.01W0.4% Si to a Cu alloy contg. 0.05W2.8% Mg or 0.05W2.8% Mg and 0.005W1.0% Ca, a water or hot water supply piping material or heat exchanger tube material is manufactured. This Cu alloy has superior corrosion resistance, castability, workability, strength, solderability and heat conductivity, and no Cu ion is leached from the alloy, so this alloy material is fit for the above-mentioned use.
