Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the pitting corrosion resistance and strength of Al and to make the thickness of a fin material smaller by adding prescribed amounts of Zr, Zn and Mg to Al or further adding Cu and/or Mn.
CONSTITUTION: The titled alloy consists of 0.02W0.15% Zr, 0.1W0.4% Zn, 0.05W 0.5% Mg and the balance Al or contains 0.05W0.2% Cu and/or 0.05W0.5% Mn furthermore. This alloy has superior pitting corrosion resistance and strength as well as superior heat conductivity and workability comparable to those of a conventional Al alloy, and the thickness of a fin material can be made smaller.
