CONSTITUTION:A mixed rare gas, consisting of mercury gas and a charging gas containing 30-70% krypton, e.g., krypton-argon, krypton-neon, or krypton-argon- neon, is confined into a rapid start type 110W straight tube fluorescent lamp, approx. 2,400mm. long and 32-35mm. in diameter, with a charging pressure of 1.5- 2.5 torr. Thus, the rise of lamp voltage can be suppressed, the power of the lamp can be controlled to a specified standard value or less, starting can be made easier, and the life of the lamp can be lengthened.
