PURPOSE:To obtain a high-efficiency fluorescent lamp, by using a lamp of a given configuration and dimension, and by employing a three-component mixture gas made up of Kr, Ar and Ne. CONSTITUTION:A fluorescent lamp having a given dimension is charged with a three-component mixture gas made up of Kr, Ar and Ne. The lamp has a tube length of 575-1,200mm., and a tube inner-diameter of 18-25.5mm.. The mixture gas consists of Ar, Ne, and 40-95% of Kr. The charged pressure of the gas is 0.4- 3.0 Torr. An appropriate lamp current as well as lamp voltage can be provided by this condition, thus a high-efficiency lamp being obtained.
