CONSTITUTION:The mixing ratio of Ne to mixing gas is 50-99.8% by sealing the mixing gas consisting of Ne-Ar-Xe as the starting rare gas of a high pressure lamp in which mercury is sealed. Since the optimum Pd value is reduced by adding this Xe, the discharge of auxiliary discharge is easily collected on the specified location of a main electrode and the transition of glow into arc is facilitated. Besides, there is a Penning effect between Ne and Xe. Even in an area where Ar+Xe ratio is high, the required time of discharge start can be reduced by the Penning effect.
