Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound, useful as an agent, and having an antifungal activity readily in high yield, by reacting a triarylmethanol as a starting material with a tri-(1-imidazolyl)phosphine.
CONSTITUTION: A triarylmethanol (except a triphenylmethanol) is reacted with a tri-(1-imidazolyl)phosphine, preferably at a molar ratio between the latter and the former of 1 or more: 3, preferably 2/3:11-2:1, in a solvent, e.g. acetonitrile or chloroform, at room temperature or under heating to give the aimed compound. A compound of formula I (A, B and D are aromatic heterocyclic group or phenyl) may be cited as the starting triarylmethanol, and a compound of formula II (R1 and R2 and R3 are H, halogen, etc.) may be cited as the tri-(1-imidazolyl)phosphine.
