Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent malodor discharge from a wet-type oxidizer without using oil by a method wherein a malodor-containing gas is cleaned with aqueous hydrogen peroxide under an acidic condition, then cleaned with water.
CONSTITUTION: Malodor-containing gas exhausted from a wet-type oxidizer 1 is guided by an induced blower 2, is sent via the cleaning towers 3, 3 into the active- carbon adsorption tank 16, and then is discharged to the outside. In the cleaning tower 3, the gas is brought into contact, on the filled layer 4, with aqueous hydrogen-peroxide cleaning-liquid having pH6 or less which is circulated by the pump 5 and sprayed, so that odorous substance is oxidized and decomposed to be diffused or dissolved into the cleaning liquid and removed. In the cleaning tower 3', the gas is brought into contact, on the filled layer 4' with water which is circulated by the pump 5' and sprayed, so that odorous substance is diffused or dissolved into water and removed. The adsorption layer 16 adsorbs and removes odorous substance which has become easier to be adsorbed by the preceding processes.
