Abstract
PURPOSE: To treat a gas by washing the gas with a soln. or water by countercurrent contact; removing mist; regulating the gas humidity by heating; mixing ozone into the gas; contacting the mixed gas to activated carbon to induce oxidation; and allowng the residual malodorants to be thoroughly adsorbed on acid-adhered activated carbon.
CONSTITUTION: A gas to be treated is drawn into dust removing chamber 1 by blower 7 to remove relatively large dust. While being moved from the lower part of packed bed 21 to the upper part in washing tower 2, the gas is washed by countercurrent contact to washing water constantly supplied from stored water tank 24 and clean water tank 25 with pump 23 and sprayed from nozzle 22. The washed gas is passed through demister 3 to remove mist, humidity-regulated with heater 4, and mixed with ozone from ozonizer 5. In oxidation tower 6 the water insol. malodorants in the mixed gas contact to activated carbon and react. In adsorption tower 8 the residual malodorants are adsorption-removed with acid-adhered activated carbon, and the exhaust gas is released into the air as odorless gas.
