Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove methyl sulfide and ammonia additionally, and to miniaturize a purifier, by a method wherein improved activated carbon to which an oxidizer is contained is used.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture of ozone and a malodorous gas is let pass through and contacted with a filling layer to which improved activated carbon is filled which is manufactured by containing an oxidizer, such as, sodium hypochlorite, sodium chlorite, potassium permanganate or the like in activated carbon, thus remarkably improving oxidation capacity by the geometrical effect of ozone, activated carbon and the oxidizer, then heightening deodorizing effect. The oxidizer is contained in the activated carbon in such a manner that the oxidizer is dissolved in a solvent, the activated carbon is soaked in the solution, the activated carbon is extracted, and the solution is left as it is or heated or evaporated under pressure reduction.
