Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the range of partial-load operation of an incinerator and to enable to operate the same continuously according to change in the amount of city refuse to be treated, by providing a subsidiary fluidized bed operable independently for partial-load operation and starting operation of the incinerator at a part of a hearth disposed downwardly of a fluidized bed. CONSTITUTION:In incinerating the city refuse or the like, a refuse feeder 24 and a coal feeder 10 are driven for feeding refuse and coal onto a lower hearth 6 after starting operation of the fluidized incinerator, and fluidizing and combusting air is supplied from an air injection pipe 18. At the same time, limestone carried pneumatically from a limestone feeder 20 is also injected into the incinerator. During such a steady operation of the incinerator, combustion gas flowing through an exhaust- gas duct 4 is carried to air injection pipes 12, 18, 18' via a recirculation-gas feeding pipe 22. Subsequently, if load is dropped to a level, for instance, lower than 35%, only a subsidiary fluidized bed 16 disposed downwardly of the lower hearth 6 is operated while dropping the intensity of combustion at an oxidizing bed 7 and a reducing bed 8. If the load is further lowered, intensity of combustion at the subsidiary fluidized bed 16 is lowered.
