Abstract
PURPOSE: To burn completely unburned gas without causing the deterioration of the lowering effect of NOx by supplying air of less than theoretical combustion oxygen amount to sludge in a fluidized incinerator and also by supplying secondary air to the gas burned in a reductive atmosphere in the outside of the incinerator.
CONSTITUTION: The fluidizing air 5 for combustion, the auxiliary fuel 6 such as heavy oil, the air 8 for atomizing the auxiliary fuel, and the sludge 9 to be burned are supplied to the fluidized incinerator 1, respectively. In the fluidizing portion 3, sludge or sludge and a majority of auxiliary fuel are burned at 650W850°C, where the total amount of air to supply to the incinerator 1 is controlled to approx. 1.0 time or less the theroretical air amount necessary for combustion to make the whole of the incinerator 1 a reductive atmosphere. Then, the gas formed by combsution in the fluidizing portion 3 is sent the free board 4 to the duct 11 connected to the incinerator 1, where the preheated secondary air 10 is supplied and mixed with the aforesaid gas in the mixing chamber 12. Thus, unburned gas is completely burned when being passed through duct 11 and the line 13 to reduce NOx to N2 with NH3 and O2 and after the separation of dust from the high-temperature gas so treated, is sent to the air heater 19 through the recovery boiler 17.
