Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled stainless steel with superior heat absorbing and radiating characteristics by restricting the relation between the Ti and Si contents of stainless steel contg. a predetermined amount each of specified elements.
CONSTITUTION: This Cr-Al stainless steel with superior heat absorbing and radiating characteristics consists of, by wt., 12.0W20% Cr, 2.0W6.0% Al, 0.10W0.90% Si, 0.01W0.40% Ti, ≤0.03% C, ≤0.38% Mn and the balance Fe and inevitable impurities. Ti spoils the endurance of the heat absorbing and radiating capacity of the steel, and Si copes with the spoiling action of Ti. Accordingly, the relation between the Ti and Si contents is restricted as follows: the Si content is arbitrarily selected from the above-mentioned range when Ti content is ≤0.30%, and is adjusted to 0.50W0.90% when the Ti content is ≤0.30% and over 0.30W0.40%, respectively.
