Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent image quality from deterioration due to remaining toner, by removing the remaining toner with a magnetic brush in the 2-color electrophotographic method prior to forming a subsequent image.
CONSTITUTION: Black development is made with a magnetic brush formed on rotary sleeve 15 of black developing unit 6 in the first rotation of photosensitive drum 1, and then the developed image is transferred to copying paper on transfer drum 10. A residual black toner on drum 1 is removed by attraction with the magnetic brush in the second rotation of drum 1. During said steps the magnetic brush chromatic color developing unit 7 is withdrawn. The chromatic color developing is made with the magnetic brush of unit 7 in the third rotation of drum 1, followed by transferring to copying paper. The residual chromatic color toner is removed by attraction with the magnetic brush of unit 7 in the fourth rotation of drum 1. In this step the magnetic brush of unit 6 is withdrawn.
