Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable distinct color images of superior gradation characteristic and color reproducibility to be obtained in copying a plurality of sheets by using one sheet of intermediate transfer medium and the specific liquid developer.
CONSTITUTION: Image exposure 5 of the original 2 is accomplished by light source light 4 through a blue filter on a photoreceptor 1 which has been evenly charged positive, whereby electrostatic latent images are formed. The latent images are developed by the developing solution containing heat sublimable dyes having a complementary color relation with the filter 3, whereby yellow images 6 are obtained. Next, the images 6 are transferred to an intermediate transfer medium 7 by a corona charger 8. Similarly, magenta images 11 and cyan images 14 are superposedly transferred respectively on the medium 7 through accurate alignment. When a transfer medium 15 is superposed on the master 16 having been obtained in this way and is heated by a heat source 17, then the dyes in the transfer images sublimate 18 and the color images 19 faithful to the original 15 are obtained on the transfer medium 15.
