Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain good two-color electrophotographic images by constituting toners of two colors with ordinary insulation-type material and photoconductive material, erasing the charges of the photoconductive toner first through radiation of light then unifying the polarities of both toners.
CONSTITUTION: When the light image 37 of the two-color original is radiated to a photosensitive drum 21, the negative latent image corresponding to the red-color image and the positive latent image corresponding to the black-color image are formed on the photoreceptor surface. These latent images are developed respectively by supplying the red-color photoconductive toner having been charged positive from a developing device 24 and the black-color insulation-type toner having been charged negative from a developing device 25. Following to this, the photoreceptor surface is radiated with blue light 26 to remove the charges of the red-color toner images, after which the red-color toner image is freshly charged negative by a charger 27, whereby the images are transferred onto transfer paper 38. With this constitution, the good two-color images may be obtained with good transfer efficiency.
