Abstract

PURPOSE:To make operation safe and sure in a device of leading laser rays to a waveguide by way of a shutter and a removable optical connector, by providing means of emitting a detection signal based on the mounting of the connector, opening the shutter, detecting the laser rays and clamping the waveguide and the optical connector. CONSTITUTION:When the male part 6A and female part 6B of an optical connector 6 are held disengaged, a NAND circuit 22 outputs an H output by means of the grounding input of a switch 19 and the L input from an amplifier 27 by the zero output of a photodetector 23, so that the plunger 12 of a solenoid 12 is retracted by way of TR28. If the 6A and 6B of the connector are coupled, a lead switch 11 is closed by a magnet 13, and the shutter 8 of a YAG laser 3 is opened by way of a NOT circuit 15, a TR16, a delay relay 18 and a control circuit 20, and the laser light is led a waveguide 2. At the same time, the switch 19A closes and the TR28 is turned off by the output of the photodetector 23, then the waveguide 2 and optical connector 6 are clamped by the projection of the plunger 12A. Hence, the operation is accomplished stably and surely.
