PURPOSE:To transmit light energy and a light signal by using the same photoconductive cable by providing an optical filter which can be inserted into and extracted from the optical path of light energy. CONSTITUTION:Light energy L from the light source is focused through lens 1 and supplied from flank 2a of optical cable 2 into cable 2, where it propagates and is emitted from flank 2b. Optical filter 3, on the other hand, is provided while it can be inserted into and extracted from the optical path of light energy freely. Filter 3 is normally off the optical path of light energy. Therefore, cable 2 transmits only the light energy, but when a light signal is to be transmitted, interposing filter 3 in the optical path colors the light energy supplied into cable 2. Thus, the light energy and light signal is transmitted simultaneously.
