Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable accurate measurement even in the sphere of low flow rate by providing a piercing hole which is perpendicular to the flow of the fluid and connects both lateral surface parts of a vortex generating body and further by providing a passage which introduces the fluid from a front positive-pressure part into the piercing hole.
CONSTITUTION: On the downstream side, for instance, of the piercing hole 4 of the vortex generating body 2, provided with a vortex detecting part wherein a heat wire 6 is stretched, is provided another piercing hole 8 which is parallel to the piercing hole 4 and connects both lateral surfaces, while passages 9 introducing the fluid from the front positive-pressure part into the piercing hole 8 are provided. When the vortex generating body 2 is put in a flow and a vortex 3 is generated on any one side of the vortex generating body 2, a strong jet-out stream 11 is generated from one end of the piercing hole 8 toward the vortex 3, while at the other end a strong jet-in stream 12 is generated. When the generated vortex 3 flows away, another vortex begins to be generated on the opposite side of the generating body 2, and, as the vortex 3 grows, it is exfoliated by the jet-out stream 11. Since the stable vortex 3 can be generated even in the sphere of low flow rate, the accurate measurement can be performed.
