Abstract
PURPOSE: To scatter a magnetic powder liquid uniformly in a suitable quantity to a test piece so that the test piece may be subjected to magnetic powder location in high accuracy by uniformly supplying the magnetic powder liquid to a scatter nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: When a magnetic powder liquid is supplied in a suitable flow rate from a supply pipe 18 to the recess 16 of a body 11, the magnetic powder liquid impinges upon the magnetic powder liquid in the recess 16 so that it has its flow energy reduced and is spreaded to the surrounding until it flows calmly from the edge 17 to a passage 12. The magnetic powder liquid thus overflown has its flow speed reduced as it approaches the leading end 13, because it is diverged toward the passage 12, so that it flows with a uniform depth and at a uniform velocity into a gutter 19. Finally, the liquid flows down to the surface of a test piece S from a scatter nozzle 23. Since, in this instance, the length of the lower front edge 13 of the passage 12 is similar to the length of the gutter 19, the magnetic powder liquid is supplied uniformly to the nozzle 23 without being one-sided and is scattered uniformly in a suitable quantity to the test piece S so that magnetic powder location can be performed in a high accuracy.
