Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the rational dropout compensation, by generating the hue signal converted into a low frequency through the conversion of it to the frequency conversion signal converted into the standard hue signal frequency, in place of the reproducing frequency modulation signal, when a dropout takes place in the reproduced frequency modulation signal. CONSTITUTION:The head 2 amplifies the reproduced signal, which is fed to HPF4 and also fed to LPF10 to produce the chroma signal converted into a low frequency from the frequency conversion signal generating circuit 12. Further, the output of HPF4 is fed circuit 6 to detect the peak value of modulation wave, and when it is smaller than the peak value level predetermined, the switch signal is fed to the circuit 5. Further, the chroma signal converted into a low frequency from the circuit 12 is input with the switch signal and the output of HPF4 is fed to the limiter circuit 7 to replace the missing part of signal due to the dropout with the output of the circuit 12, the circuit 7 rejects the amplitude modulation component to output the luminance in which the dropout is compensated.
