Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a video signal from overmodulation when recording the signal which is subjected to nonlinear distortion, by detecting the peak of the color signal which is stretched only a color burst signal. CONSTITUTION:The composite video signal from an input terminal 21 is applied to an AGC circuit 22 and a BPF30. The output of the AGC circuit 22 is supplied to a head 28 through an LPF23, a pre-emphasis circuit 24, an FM modulator 25, a synthesizer 26, and a recordng amplifier 27. Meanwhile, the output of the BPE30 has the burst stretched by a burst stretching circuit 31 and passes through a color signal amplifier 32 and has the peak detected by a peak detector 33. After frequency conversion, the output of the color signal amplifier 32 is returned to the original burst amplitude by a burst compressor 37 and is applied to the synthesizer 26. Thus, overmodulation for video signal recording which receives nonlinear distortion is prevented even in the recording level where the SN ratio of the color signal is in the best level.
