Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce substantially the distortion of the color signal occurring under the process in which the color signal containing the burst is added by the luminance signal and such color video signal undergoes the recording/reproducing, modulation/ demodulation and transmission. CONSTITUTION:The test signal which is generally used to measure DG and DP distortion is supplied to input terminal A as shown by (b). Pulse generation circuit 2 generates pulse signal (c) featuring the fixed level of, for example, the width of the back porch via the synchronous signal isolated at synchronous isolation circuit 1. The input signal and the pulse signal are added (d) together at adder circuit 3. At this moment, the back porch is shifted to the specified level of the video signal from the original position, i.e., from 50IRE. Then the signal given from circuit 3 is modulated at FM modulator circuit 4 and then led to the recording unit of the recording/reproducing device for the video signal. The same operation is given also to the reproduction side.
