Abstract

PURPOSE:To charge a capacitor for smoothing at the output side of a boosting transformer up to a fixed value for a short time and shorten time necessary for starting largely by a method wherein a commercial AC power source is connected at the primary side of the boosting transfomer when starting an inverter. CONSTITUTION:In a DC high voltage generator wherein crrents from DC power sources 12, 12' are DC-DC converted by means of SCRs 10, 10', a transformer 1, a rectifying circuit 2 and a capacitor 3 for smoothing and acceleration voltage is obtained, a commercial AC power source 54 for rapidly charging the capacitor 3 when starting is connected. The AC power source 54 is connected to the primary winding of the boosting transformer 1 through switches 52, 52', 13', 13''. When closing a switch 55 in case of starting, the switches 52, 52' are interlocked and closed while a timer 53 starts its action. When set charging time passes, the switches 13', 13'' are opened by signals from the timer 53 while a switches 13 of the power source 12 is closed, and a motor is brought to an operation condition.
