PURPOSE: To detect the direction of rotation in the motor, by locating the two or more search coils or Hall elements in the rotating magnetic field of motor and detecting the direction of rotation from the vector sum of AC voltage induced in them.
CONSTITUTION: The search coil 1 or Hall element is fixed to the fixed iron core 2 of a motor with interval of 90 electric angle. The induced voltage vectors Eα, Eβ are input to the detection circuit 4 to obtain the vector sum and the voltage is indicated with the voltmeter 5. When the motor runs forward, the indication value is 2E (where: E is the absolute value of the vectors Eα, Eβ) and when reverse, the sum is 0. Thus, the direction of rotation can be detected with this indication.
