Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain means to detect the direction of rotation with a rotation detector by recognizing the shape of voltage induction due to rotation of a permanent magnet developed in the coil of a magnetism detection element. CONSTITUTION:A rotating body 1 is rotated with a permanent magnet 2 attached on its outer circumference. With the change in the magnetic flux that is developed by the rotation of the permanent magnet 2, an induction voltage is generated at both ends of a coil 4b by means of an iron core 4a of a magnetic detecting element 4 that is provided on the circumference of a fixed frame 3. Everytime the permanent magnet 2 passes near the element 4 once, a group of +, -, and + voltages are induced. When the rotating body 1 is rotated in the opposite direction, the order of the induced voltages changes to -, +, and - which allows detection of the rotational direction. Further, the number of rotation of the rotating body 1 is counted by counting the frequency of the induced voltage.
