Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the composite magnetic flux given by unbalanced currents by using an annular iron core with a gap for a highly accurate detection in a simple structure when the phase current in a thyristor rectifier of double star connection is controlled in balancing.
CONSTITUTION: When the current at the neutral point of two transformer windings 1 and 2 of double star connection is detected for controlling the ignition of thyristors 3∼8 by that signal, conductors 34 and 35 connecting between neutral points are inserted through the inner space of an annular iron core with a gap 36 so that their ampere turns deny each other. Then, the detected voltage by unbalanced current generated in a magnetic flux detecting element 50 provided in the gap 36 is given to an operational amplifier 14, by whose output thyristors 3∼8 are controlled. In this construction, the unbalanced current is detected magnetically without using current transformers 11 and 12 to be used for a feedback signal, and current can be controlled very accurately in a simple structure.
