Abstract

PURPOSE:To identify and rotating direction without contact by applying two-phase AC voltages on a unit under test, and detecting the leaking magnetic flux generated in the unit under test by a pair of search coils arranged over the outer periphery of the unit under test with a distance being provided. CONSTITUTION:The two-phase AC voltages are supplied to the stator winding of a single-phase induction motor which is a unit under test 1 by a Scott transformer 2. The leaking magnetic flux from the unit under test 1 is detected by search coils 3 and 4 arranged over the outer periphery of the unit under test 1 with a distance of 30 deg.-120 deg. being provided. The waveform of the detected output of rectified by filters 6, the phase is identified by a phase identifier 7, thereby clockwise or counterclockwise lamps 8 or 9 are lit. Thus, by utilizing the fact that the output waveforms from the search coils 3 and 4 are different, the highly reliable identification can be performed without contact.
