Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the detection of an accurate step position in a differential transformer having a magnetic flux generating coil, two sets of detecting coils and a movable core by providing uneven teeth on the movable core and providing two sets of detecting teeth faced with the uneven teeth and displaced at the position in reverse direction to the uneven teeth. CONSTITUTION:Accurately movable teeth 5 are formed at the predetermined interval on a movable core 3 forming a differential transformer, and magnetic flux generating teeth 7 having detecting teeth 6, 6' faced with the teeth 5 and displaced at 1/4 pitch in the reverse direction with respect to the teeth 5 are arranged. Detecting coils 2, 2' and magnetic flux generating coil 1 are respectively wound on the teeth 6, 6', and an AC current of 500Hz-20kHz is supplied from an AC power source 4 to the coil 1. Thus, the coils 2, 2' are connected in series with reverse phase with one another, and are composed to generate a detecting output of large AC voltage when the core 3 is moved.
