Abstract

A static transformer is adjustable and is used to supply electric welding equipment. It can provide various voltage and current settings with high efficiency. The transformer has two coils (1, 2) with multiple tappings. One (1) of the coils (1, 2) has one primary winding, and the other coil (2) has another primary winding concentric with the secondary winding. It also has a rotating magnetic shunt (8) whose position is adjusted by means of a wheel (12) and gear drive (9, 10, 11). The shunt (8) is used to adjust the output within the ranges obtained by switching between tappings.
