Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate operations for adjusting the preset load of a suspension spring by constituting a suspension system such that an operating lever for pivotally operating a cam cylinder interposed between a holder carrying one end of the suspension spring and a shock absorber body is designed to be engageable with the cam cylinder and foldable upon itself. CONSTITUTION:In decreasing the preset load of a suspension spring 17 which is at the greatest when the system is in a position as shown in the drawing, an operating lever 25 folded substantially in parallel with a shock absorber body 11 is first pivoted clockwise to a substantially horizontal position against a coil spring 20. A projection 25a provided on an end of the lever 25 is thereby engaged with one of notches 23a formed along an upper cam face 23 of a cam cylinder 22. The lever 25 is now pivoted in a horizontal direction to turn the cam cylinder 22 whereby a stop 20 provided on the shock absorber body 11 is disengaged from a cam shoulder face 24a and is now engaged with another cam shoulder face 24b or so. The distance between two holders 15, 16 is expanded thereby and the preset load can be thus decreased in a stepped manner.
