Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide satisfactory comfortableness of ride irrespectively of presence or absence of a load by a method wherein two coiled springs having different spring constants and different diameters are provided between a damper and a damper rod so as to obtain spring characteristics with a high progressive ratio. CONSTITUTION:The first and second coiled springs 11, 12 having different diameter are placed between the damper 2 and the rod 3. The first spring 11 is placed between the damper 2 and the rod 3 through a joint 8 which slides on the damper side. The second spring 12 is placed between the joint 8 and a fixed spring receiver 13 provided on the damper side, in such a manner that the spring 12 interferes with the rod 3 side at the time of a prescribed stroke. Accordingly, satisfactory comfortableness of ride can be obtained in the entire stroke range from small vibrations to large loads.
