Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a cooler compact and enhance its reliability, by providing the cooling liquid passage of double pipe structure upstream to a circulating pump and by introducing the secondary cooling water of the cooler to recover heat. CONSTITUTION:The cooling liquid, whose temperature is heightened by absorbed heat generated by the stator winding 2 of a turbine-driven electric generator 1, passes through the cooling liquid passage 3 due to a head. A cooling liquid heat recovery unit 10 of double pipe structure, which utilizes the secondary cooling water of the cooler already heat-exchanged with the cooling liquid in a cooler 6 and discharged therefrom, is provided in the halfway part of the passage 3 so that the cooling liquid flows into a tank 4 after the liquid is cooled by the unit 10. The cooling liquid cooled by the unit 10 is sent out by a circulating pump 5 and controlled to a prescribed temperature by the cooler 6 and a three-way temperature regulation valve 7 and returned to the generator 1 through a filter 8 and a pressure control valve 9. Since the heat absorbed from the winding 2 is partially removed from the cooling liquid by the unit 10, the capacity of the cooler 6 can be decreased by the quantity of the partially removed heat. This results in making the cooler compact and enhancing its reliability.
