Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively take advantage of a power plant which has an independent starting system for a steam condenser, by providing weir plates to divide the bottom portion of the steam condenser into sections and returning water stored in a primary hot well, to a main hot well through the starter.
CONSTITUTION: At starting the system, a condenser pump 6 is stopped, the inlet valve 19 of the pump is closed and condensed water in a primary hot well 13 is conducted by a pump 14 to a hot well 5 through the condensed water desalting unit 7, bleeder 8 and a gland-exhauster steam condenser 9 of a starter 15 and stored in the hot well 5 and flows back from an opening 25 to the primary hot well 13. The condensed water is thus circulated. In normal operation, the pump 6 is running and the pump inlet valve 19 is open and condensed water flows through the primary hot well 13, the starter 15, the main hot well 5 and the condenser pump 6. Said system results in taking advantage of a power plant with the independent starting system for a steam condenser to the maximum extent, reducing the height of a vessel and making it compact.
