Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the responsiveness of water level controlling of a hot well by a method wherein a spill-over piping is arranged. CONSTITUTION:Under the normal operating condition, the condensate within a primary hot well 2 is sent by means of a pump 5 through a steam condenser 8 and the like and distillated into the primary hot well 2 and a secondary hot well 3 through a condensate supply pioe 11 and a condensate return pipe 12. When the water level within the hot well 2 rises above the fixed level, a water level controlling device 25 actuates to open a spill-over valve 29 by means of a controlling valve switching device 26. At this time, a spill-over valve 16 is closed. With the opening of the valve 29, the condensate within the hot well 2 is sent to a tank 15 so as to control the water level within the hot well 2 to keep at the fixed water level. When the water level within the hot well 2 lowers below the fixed level, a water level controlling device 24 actuates to open a supplementary feed valve 19. With the opening of the valve 19, the condensate within the tank 15 is sent to the hot well 2 so as to keep the water level within the hot well 2 at the fixed water level.
