Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the Young's modulus in the direction perpendicular to rolling and produce a high Young's modulus steel material of superior workability in the rolling direction by performing hot rolling and heat treatment after the rolling under the specific conditions at the time of hot rolling of the steel material.
CONSTITUTION: The steel contg. >0.20% C, 0.01W1.0% Si, 0.3W2.0% Mn, 0.001W0.20% Al and >0.020% N or the steel material contg. further Ni, Cr and other additive elements at ≤4.5% is heated to its Ac1 transformation pointW 1250°C and is hot rolled.
