Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a hot rolled steel plate of superior plus formability and surface characteristics by treating steel contg. C, Si, Mn, Cr and Al under specific hot rolling conditions and cooling conditions. CONSTITUTION:A steel contg. 0.03-0.15% C, 0.1-1.0% Si, 1.0-2.5% Mn, 0.55-1.5% Cr, and <=0.1% Al is prepared. Next, this steel is heated to, for example, 1,200 deg.C, after which it is subjected to continuous hot rolling in excess of 820 deg.C and at 900-920 deg.C hot rolling finish temps. and >=35% drafts. Next, the steel plate having completed of hot rolling is conditioned and cooled at 5-40 deg.C/sec average cooling rate, whereby the steel plate of the composition between pearlite and bainite phases is made. Next, this steel plate is quickly cooled at 30-80 deg.C/sec average cooling rates and is coiled, whereby the intended high strength hot rolled steel plate is obtained. This steel plate is higher in elongation and stretch-flanging characteristic as compared with strength, and is low in yield ratio; hence, it is superior in formability and further surface characteristic.
