Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce non-refining high tensile steel plate with superior low temperature toughness by hot-rolling low carbon steel slab with Nb at the temperature near 1,000°C in a specific cumulative draft and then cooling it.
CONSTITUTION: Steel slab containing 1 or 2 kinds and over of 0.03W0.09%C, 0.03W0.5% Si, 0.5W2.0% Mn, <0.05%, sol, Al 0.01W0.10% Nb or, if necessary, <0.15% V, <0.5% Ni, <0.5% Cr, <0.5% Cu, <0.5% Mo, and <0.0025% B is heated at ≥1,100°C. The steel slab is hot-rolled at the temperature ranges of ≥1,000°C and 1,000W900°C respectively so that each cumulative draft is (-0.1T+ 170)% and over (T represents heating temperature) and ≥60%. The hot rolled steel slab is cooled at the average cooling speed of ≥10°C/sec and over in the temperature range of Ar3 transformation point to 650°C, producing non-reflining high tensile steel plate with the tensile strength of ≥60kg/mm2.
