Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce shocks at the time of deceleration by providing an air control valve openable properly at the time of deceleration only when load on engine is less than a given value to an additional air path through which an additional air is introduced into an air intake path downstream of a throttle valve.
CONSTITUTION: When the opening degree of the throttle valve 4 is less than a given value, a great negative pressure in an intake pipe imposes on the port 18, the negative pressure is introduced into the chamber 31 through the port 33 of the negative pressure control valve 25, and the diaphragm 30 is moved downwards against the spring 32, whereby closing the valve 25. Also, said negative pressure is directly supplied to the first chamber 15 of the air control valve 9 and supplied to the second chamber 16 with a time lag due to the delaying action caused by the throttle element 22 of the negative pressure delaying valve 21. For this reason, the air control valve 9 is opened for a delayed time based on the negative pressure delaying valve 21 and air from the additional air path 8 is supplied to the downstream of the throttle valve 4. Thus, shocks at the time of deceleration can be reduced.
