Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a heat resistant Co-Cr-Ni alloy for a hearth rail having stable characteristics such as high temp. oxidation resistance and capable of being used in place of a high Co alloy by adding a specified amount each of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni, Co, W and Mo.
CONSTITUTION: This Co-Cr-Ni alloy consists of ≤0.10% C, ≤2.0% Si, ≤2.0% Mn, 25W35% Cr, 35W45% Ni, 10W20% Co, 5W15% W, 1.5W3.0% Mo and the balance impurities. This alloy contains Cr, such a reduced amount of expensive Co and Ni in such an amount required to enhance the acid resistance. C, Si, Mn, Cr, W and Mo each added in such a restricted amount according to the purpose improve the oxidation resistance at high temp. and the high temp. rupture strength. Accordingly, this alloy can be used stably over a long term when used as a material for an internal member such as hearth metal of a heating furnace.
