Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent deposition of toner as well as image staining, by dropping part of a developer on a developing roller down to the surface of a developer distributing plate opposite to a drum.
CONSTITUTION: A developer regulated to a constant volume with developer regulating plate 3 is distributed at a constant ratio to developing rollers 6, 9 with de- veloper distributing plate 10. The developer fed to roller 9 is held in zone 16 on the surface of sleeve 8 by magnetic attraction of magnetic pole S1 of roller 9, but part of the developer is dropped to near surface 18 of plate 10 by setting magnetic flux density of pole S1 properly. Dropped developer 20 attaches to roller 6 with rubbing surface 18 of plate 10. During running of a copier, surface 10 is always rubbed with developer 20, permitting toner deposition on surface 18 and image staining to be prevented.
