Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the maneuverability at the time of low speed by reducing the steering rate of a rear wheel against a front wheel to be changed according to the speed of a car to zero in the low speed area of the car. CONSTITUTION:When a steering wheel 10 steered for turning to the right, an operation arm 19 is swayed round a support 20 via an arm rod 12 and a differential gear 13, and front wheel 17 and a rear wheel 26 are steered to the right. At this stage, the steering rate of the rear wheel 26 against the front wheel 17 is determined on the basis of the distance between the movable support 20 and a pivot part 24 and that between the support 20 and a pivot part 23. As the position of the above-said support 20 is shifted to the right, the steering angle of the rear wheel 26 is increased to bring the above-said steering rate near to 1. On the contary, as the support 20 is shifted to the left, the steering rate is brought near to 0. The position of the support 20 is controlled by turning a screw rod 33 by meas of a driving means 32 via a car- speed sensor 30 and a control device 31 to be shifted to the right at the high speed of the car and to the left at the low speed of the car. When the car speed is lowered to a low speed area below a fixed 39 speed, the position of the support 20 is accorded with that of the pivot part 23, and the steering rate is reduced to zero.
