Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove power loss consumed at an auxiliary winding circuit with a positive characteristic thermistor by a method wherein a bimetal switch is mounted to the auxiliary winding circuit, and by making the bimetal switch at OFF by the heat being generated by the positive characteristic thermistor or by a heater of an overload relay. CONSTITUTION:A bimetal switch 11 is arranged between a positive characteristic thermistor 4 connected in series with the auxiliary winding L1 of a single-phase induction motor MO and an overload relay 7 inserted to a power source circuit so as to be heated by the heat being generated by the positive characteristic thermistor 4 or a heater 6 of the overload relay 7. Thus, since currents do not flow through the positive characteristic thermistor after the starting of the motor is completed, power loss is lessened, and the motor can be restarted positively.
