Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the efficiency of motor by using outgoing line at the time of starting and by using all the main coils during operation by providing an intermediate outgoing line to the main coil and by connecting the intermediate outgoing line to a positive-characteristic thermistor in series and aslo to the outgoing line of the main coil.
CONSTITUTION: Since the positive-characteristic thermistor 24 has the temperature and resistance characteristics as shown in Fig. at the moment of starting, at which resistance is very low because of low temperature, current in the main coil 21 flows through the outgoing line T into the positive-characteristic thermistor 24, whereby torque necessary for starting can be obtained. After starting, heat is generated due to Joule heat by current flowing in the thermistor 24, the resistance value is increased, resulting in the same characteristics as bad conductor, current flows in coil between the outgoing lines T and H, and all the main coils are utilized during operation. Thus, the efficiency of motor can be raised.
