Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide full braking force for normal application where the risk of skid exists scarcely and to prevent lock on the road whose surface condition tends to cause skid by such a construction that the braking force shall be reduced until positive wheel acceleration is sensed in case the road surface friction coefficient has become small during application of brakes.
CONSTITUTION: An electronic control circuit 23 will send a signal λ1 when the wheel speed is smaller than No.1 reference value and a signal λ2 when smaller than No.2 reference value, which lies still lower. This circuit 23 also senses the acceleration of a wheel and sends W1 and W2 signals in accordance with No.1 positive acceleration and a still larger positive acceleration, and further -W3 signal in accordance with No.3 negative acceleration. An inlet solenoid 20 and an outlet solenoid 21 work on the basis of these signals and reduce the braking force until the W1 signal is given while a λ2 signal exists, so that the braking force will be reduced on a road with easy-to-skid surface condition until the wheels are accelerated. Thus, the lock of the wheels can be prevented.
