Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a developer having the advantages of one-component development and capable of forming a sharp image on common paper by using fine ferromagnetic powder with specified specific resistance and a specified potential attenuation rate as a principal component. CONSTITUTION:This developer contains fine ferromagnetic powder as a principal component with >=10<14>OMEGA.cm specific resistance and <50% rate of attenuating the potential of the developer measured by a predetermined measuring method. In order to obtain said quantity of charges, it is required to select the combination of the used resin with the powder and the way of exposing the powder. An aid such as silica for enhancing the fluidity may be added. When development is carried out using said one-component developer made of toner alone, the developer is put into a hopper 1, and by rotating a nonmagnetic sleevelike rotating member 3 set under the opening of the hopper as an outer tube for a group of fixed magnets 2 in the arrow 4 direction, a toner layer 5 is formed while holding the developer on the member 3 by magnetic force.
