Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an image of good quality and to obtain a long-life developer by using powder consisting of a ferritic material of specific coercive force and saturation magnetization for its carriers. CONSTITUTION:The coercive force of carriers consisting of a ferritic material relates to the fluidity of a developer; if it exceeds 10 oersted, the fluidity degrades considerably, and therefore, the coercive force is kept at 0-10Oe. Then, the toner and the carriers are thoroughly agitated, resulting in faster rising characteristics of toner charging and a longer life of the developer. Since the saturation magnetization of the carriers generates the magnetic force that overcomes electrostatic force and the centrifugal force by sleeve revolution, the carriers detach from a developing sleeve if it is <=1,500 gauss and this is of a problem particularly in high speed development. At >=6,500 gauss, a photoreceptor is vulnerable to damaging, and the quality of images is degraded. The powder controlled to 1,500-6,500 gauss is therefore used.
